Positioned between the power section and the fieldbus, this component executes motion commands, handles feedback, and coordinates drive safety functions in automated machinery. By combining parameter storage, axis control logic, and built-in communication, the unit serves as the central interface between higher-level PLCs and servo inverters on production lines, packaging equipment, and material-handling systems.

In terms of signal handling, its analog input is terminated by an impedance of 160 kOhm, minimizing loading on upstream sensors. One analog channel is available, while two analog output channels can source up to 5 V, 1 mA for reference signals to external converters.
