Bosch Rexroth Indramat manufactures the CSH01.1C-S3-ENS-EN2-NNN-S2-S-XP-FW controller, a configurable control section in the CSH Advanced Controllers series. Installed on IndraDrive stacks, the unit coordinates position, speed, and torque loops for multiple servo axes while passing deterministic process data to supervisory PLCs. Its role in industrial automation is to provide decentralized motion processing, encoder evaluation, and integrated safety so that machine modules can meet cycle-time and compliance requirements without an external PC-based controller. Because the control section is mounted directly on the drive stack, motion control and feedback processing remain in one compact assembly.

The analog interface accepts signals of ±10 V / 160 kΩ, allowing differential command values from sensors or PLC cards, and returns feedback through an output of 5 V / 1 mA for proportional indicators. For high-resolution encoder feedback, the secondary En2 channel handles pulse rates up to 1000 kHz and draws only 350 mA from the drive’s internal supply. The first encoder channel provides 11.6 V / 500 mA to power IndraDyn, HIPERFACE, or 1 Vpp encoders, while the second channel supports EnDat 2.1, 1 Vpp, and 5 V TTL formats so digital-absolute and legacy feedback devices can be used on the same axis card. The onboard A/D path also converts additional sensor voltages, making auxiliary process variables available to the control loop.

The Ens converter provides a 12-bit resolution suitable for machine-mounted pressure or load cells. Safe Motion (S2) uses a D-Sub 9 female connector to route enabling circuits and exposes a digital output of 24 V / 0.5 A plus a relay contact rated at DC 24 V / 1 A for category-oriented stop channels. Real-time traffic is carried over Sercos III, and two 2 × RJ45 ports wired to IEEE 802.3 support line or ring topologies. An RS232 serial interface remains available for local service access and basic serial communication.
