Installed in IndraDrive platforms, the unit serves as the command processor for one drive axis, translating high-level automation tasks into real-time servo commands. Within an industrial cell, it coordinates position, velocity, and torque loops while communicating with PLCs and other drives through its integrated network interfaces.

The controller exchanges cyclic data over SERCOS III, keeping deterministic update times on conveyor, packaging, and pick-and-place equipment. During operation, it draws only 7.5 W, so cabinet heat rise remains minimal. Upon power-up, the supply sees an inrush of 4 A lasting roughly 100 ms, so downstream fusing must tolerate that pulse. A built-in analog monitor furnishes a reference of 5 V / 1 mA for external speed probes or potentiometers.
