During normal operation, the electronics consume only 7.5 W, while power-up creates an inrush current of 4 A for as long as 100 ms, so the supply path must tolerate that brief transient. Motion commands and diagnostic data move over the deterministic SERCOS III interface, which supports synchronized communication between the controller and connected axes. The MD2 expansion provides 16 digital inputs that are updated within the servo cycle for fast response to machine sensors and interlocks. An HSF feedback channel accepts a 1.0 V differential signal, and the resolver supply provides 18.2 Vpp at 4 kHz for compatible feedback devices.
