By combining logic processing, field communication, and encoder evaluation on one board, the unit streamlines cabinet layouts and reduces field wiring in industrial automation.

The controller’s native analog stage delivers a resolution of 19.5 mV/inc, giving each incremental count a fixed voltage step for drive command outputs. During normal operation, the electronics draw only 7.5 W, which helps limit internal heat rise. Command data reach the board over a Parallel Interface, so sixteen data lines arrive simultaneously with minimal latency. When the EN2 encoder option is installed, total demand increases by just 6 W, leaving headroom for compact power supplies. Connected feedback devices receive a regulated source of 5 V, which helps prevent signal drift on long cable runs. Two MA1 analog output channels share a converter that operates at 12-bit depth, and their step size is reduced further to 5 mV per increment. The MA1 block also provides two unipolar outputs for reference signals.

Position information is acquired through the integrated EnDat 2.1 / 1 Vpp / 5 V TTL interface, allowing the drive to accept absolute or incremental encoders without external converters. For process monitoring, the module supports 2 differential channels of analog feedback. The MEM option permits cable runs up to 40 m and streams position patterns at a peak of 1 MHz. Sixteen parallel inputs and sixteen parallel outputs connect directly to sensors and actuators, while Safe Motion supervises velocity and stop functions.
