The CSH01.1C-PB-ENS-EN2-MA1-L2-S-XP-FW controller is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the CSH Advanced Controllers series. Housed in an IndraDrive rack, it functions as the motion-control core of a multi-axis system, translating fieldbus telegrams into deterministic torque and position commands for the connected power sections. By combining encoder evaluation, safety processing, and user I/O in a single card, the module streamlines cabinet layouts for material-handling cells, packaging machines, and assembly stations that demand synchronized servo performance.

The control electronics are powered from a logic rail of 24 V DC, and their continuous consumption is limited to 7.5 W, which simplifies auxiliary supply sizing and heat dissipation. During power-up, the board draws an inrush of 4 A for capacitor charging, so upstream breakers must tolerate that short surge. Fieldbus exchange occurs over PROFIBUS at the rear backplane, while point-to-point diagnostics can be performed through the dedicated RS232 service port on the front. Two independent feedback channels are available: channel A accepts IndraDyn, Hiperface, 1 Vss, or TTL signals, and channel B supports EnDat 2.1, 1 Vss, or TTL. A 100 ms pulse-width generator is integrated for external watchdogs, and the Safe Torque Off circuitry instantly removes gate signals to the drive when a safety input is asserted.

An onboard MA1 Analog I/O Extension enlarges the standard interface with two analog inputs and two outputs; each channel covers ±10 V and is digitized or generated at 12-bit resolution to allow fine speed or pressure commands. The extension also forwards the input and output states every cycle to the main processor, maintaining the safety level indicated by the drive’s SIL3 / Cat. 3 PL e rating. With dual 2-channel availability, OEMs can map position offsets, dancer signals, or actuator trims directly onto the control loop without external signal conditioners, reducing wiring complexity while keeping deterministic update timing.
