The CSH01.1C-PB-EN2-NNN-MD2-S1-S-NN-FW control section is part of the CSH Advanced Controllers series manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat. Installed on an IndraDrive power module, it governs one or two servo axes and coordinates them with the higher-level PLC. The module handles motion calculations, feedback evaluation, and integrated safety so that complex positioning tasks can be executed inside the drive instead of the main control panel. Because control and feedback processing are integrated on the section, response to position and speed changes can be handled directly at the drive.

The primary network interface is PROFIBUS-DP, which exchanges cyclic and acyclic data between the drive and distributed I/O islands. Local setup and diagnostic access can use the legacy RS232 port. For analog signaling, the board supplies 2 analog outputs that can send velocity or torque values to external devices. Cabinet depth requirements are kept to 103 mm, leaving more rail space for supplementary electronics. Motor feedback versatility is provided by an encoder socket that accepts EnDat 2.1, 1 Vpp, and 5 V TTL formats, allowing the controller to work with a broad range of synchronous and asynchronous motors. This combination lets the control section link the drive with both networked equipment and legacy peripheral devices.

The MD2 expansion on this variant adds 16 digital inputs and 16 digital outputs for fast sensor and actuator coupling, and the additional interface supports an SSI encoder channel for absolute position sources. Functional safety is implemented through S1 Safety Technology I/O, enabling safe stop and safe torque off functions without external relays. The encoder supply provides 350 mA at a regulated 5.0 V DC to power multi-turn feedback devices through the D-Sub 15-pin connector. Relay contacts on the board are rated for DC 24 V, 1 A, making them suitable for interlock circuits. The digital I/O capacity allows the controller to exchange ready, enable, and limit signals without a separate interface card. The housing is 241 mm high and 49.5 mm wide, so it fits cleanly beside other IndraDrive sections inside the enclosure.
