The Bosch CSH01.1C-PB-EN2-EN2-CCD-NN-S-NN-FW is a digital control section. It is an advanced control section that you can configure through a standard control panel. Other types of control section such as basic and basic advanced are also available. The CSH01.1C-PB-EN2-EN2-CCD-NN-S-NN-FW features Profibus master communication. Profibus is a standard for digital communication between control systems and sensors. Other options for master communication for CSH series devices are SERCOS, SERCOS III and MultiEthernet. Each advanced control section has four slots for plug in modules. The CSH01.1C-PB-EN2-EN2-CCD-NN-S-NN-FW includes three pre-installed modules that are a cross-communication drive module and two encoder EnDat 2.1 modules. One slot on the device that is reserved for a safety module is vacant. The encoder modules installed on the device work with encoders rated at 5 Volts DC.
Each encoder module has a female interface with 15 pins. Bosch recommends using stranded copper wire with 0.25 to 1.0 mm2 cross-section with the encoder modules. Each control section such as the CSH01.1C-PB-EN2-EN2-CCD-NN-S-NN-FW is usually supplied as part of a complete and assembled IndraDrive controller that also includes a power section. The control section and installed modules operate at 24 Volts DC supplied by the power section. The firmware for the CSH01.1C-PB-EN2-EN2-CCD-NN-S-NN-FW is ordered separately and determines a large part of the controller functionality. The exact firmware version installed can be identified by information listed on the firmware type plate. If supplied separately, the control section mounts onto the power section. There is a risk of damage to the control section and/or power section by mounting or dismounting the control section too often. For this reason Bosch recommends limiting to 20 the number of mounting and dismounting operations.
