It fits into drive racks where it supervises multi-axis motion through two EN1 encoder interfaces and exchanges commands with higher-level PLCs over a PROFIBUS-DP fieldbus that uses the EIA-RS485 physical layer. Through its integrated RS232 service port, parameter sets can be loaded and diagnostics can be retrieved without removing the device from the cabinet. This allows the controller to handle motion coordination and routine access tasks from one rack position in packaging, printing, and assembly automation.
