By combining field feedback with deterministic outputs, the module synchronizes multiple axes, allowing packaging, assembly, or material-handling equipment to run coordinated motion profiles without an external PC. It complies with the modular SERCOS architecture and fits on standardized controller rails.

The controller distributes its internal logic and sensor power through a dedicated supply rail rated at 24 V DC, while its analog reference channel sources up to 5 V for external transducers or test points. Position information from the secondary encoder is digitized by a converter with 12-bit resolution, which aligns feedback granularity with the servo drive interpolation cycle. When an EnDat 2.1 device is wired with sense conductors, the permissible cable length extends to 75 m; without sense lines, the limit is shorter because voltage-drop compensation is unavailable.
