It serves as a central drive and safety unit in automated lines, coordinating motion axes while exchanging real-time data with higher-level systems over standardized networks. The unit offers master communication through Multi-Ethernet, allowing it to interface with multiple industrial protocols without changing the base controller. This arrangement lets the same platform handle motion coordination and safety-related signal processing in compact machine architectures.

Its housing measures 241 mm in height, 49.5 mm in width, and 103 mm in depth, allowing dense side-by-side mounting inside a control cabinet. Network connectivity is native; the unit supports 100Base-TX signaling and presents a single RJ-45, 8-pin port, so wiring follows common Ethernet practice. The master interface enables deterministic traffic toward drives while supporting integration with PLCs and other control devices.
