The unit is a modular control section that mounts on an IndraDrive power module to execute positioning, velocity, and diagnostic routines for industrial equipment. By interpreting fieldbus commands and encoder feedback, the controller coordinates the motion of connected servo hardware in packaging, printing, and material-handling stations that require repeatable axis response and clear status handling.

The module is tailored for single-axis drive topologies and draws only 7.5 W at the logic rail, so it can be supplied directly from the drive's internal auxiliary supply. On the communication side, the integrated Co interface is terminated at 124 ohms and uses a 5-pole spring terminal for secure field wiring. Motion commands arrive over CANopen/DeviceNet, while the receiver front end presents a 120-ohm differential input resistance to help maintain signal quality on long cable runs. The MA1 local terminal adds two digital inputs and two digital outputs for end-limit checks or valve actuation, and the pulse-capture circuitry accepts widths down to 100 ms while processing TTL edges up to 400 kHz.

The encoder interface delivers up to 500 mA at 11.6 V to power external feedback devices, and the signals are galvanically isolated to help prevent ground loops when emulation pulses are forwarded to higher-level PLCs.
