The Bosch Rexroth Indramat CSH01.1C-CO-ENS-EN2-NNN-S2-S-NN-FW is a control section from the CSH Advanced Controllers series. It is installed in modular drive systems to coordinate one servo axis and exchange fieldbus data with higher-level PLCs. By handling feedback evaluation, motion commands, and safety monitoring inside the drive stack, the unit shortens control loops and improves cycle times in industrial automation cells. It also serves as the central processing layer for the connected drive, keeping motion control and communication functions in the same hardware section.

Internally, the section is configured for single-axis operation, so all command resources focus on one motor channel. For CANopen networks, it can manage up to 127 nodes, and the bus uses a line topology that supports simple daisy-chain installation. Communication runs on two twisted-pair lines with an overall shield, which helps limit noise pickup in industrial cabinets. The EN2 encoder supply delivers a continuous 350 mA at the feedback connector, and its differential receivers tolerate loads up to 35 ohms. A separate ENS supply provides 500 mA to SSI or incremental encoders and is maintained at 11.6 V to protect sensitive sensing electronics from overvoltage.

System safety is handled by the Safe Motion function set, which supervises velocity and position inside the controller. Under DeviceNet, the unit can occupy up to 64 addresses, which allows integration into moderate-sized material-handling lines. The S2 expansion includes a digital input rated at 24 V, 3 mA for signals from proximity switches and a sourcing output rated at 24 V, 0.5 A for actuators such as contactors. Diagnostic access is provided through an RS-232 connection that supports one station on the port, and cable runs can extend to 15 m without external repeaters. This arrangement keeps encoder power, discrete I/O, and safety supervision within the control section instead of pushing those tasks to the host PLC.
