The CSH01.1C-CO-ENS-EN2-MD2-S2-S-NN-FW is a modular motion and I/O controller produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the CSH Advanced Controllers series. The unit is intended to coordinate servo drives, monitor feedback devices, and issue discrete control signals inside automated machinery. By combining communication, encoder processing, and safety functions on one plug-in card set, it acts as the central command element for multi-axis systems that require real-time positioning and state monitoring.

The controller’s base power consumption is 7.5 W, which is the heat load the enclosure must dissipate during continuous operation. It exchanges process data with supervisory PLCs through CANopen / DeviceNet, allowing deterministic bus cycles suited to drive synchronization. At power-up, the module can draw an inrush current of 4 A, so protective fusing and supply sizing must accommodate this short-term demand. The MD2 extension board provides 16 digital inputs for status capture and 16 digital outputs for actuator control. Each output can source up to 500 mA and supports pulse trains up to 100 ms width for valve or relay actuation, which eliminates the need for separate field modules when integrating sensors or small solenoids.

With sensing conductors present, the second encoder channel permits cable lengths up to 75 m; installations without sense lines are limited to 50 m to maintain signal integrity. The first encoder port supplies 11.6 V DC at 500 mA and accepts position feedback through the IndraDyn / HIPERFACE® / 1 Vpp interface, while the second port provides 5.0 V DC at 350 mA for devices using EnDat 2.1, 1 Vpp, or 5 V TTL formats. This arrangement supports several common feedback formats without requiring an external interface module. For personnel and machine protection, the integrated Safe Motion function permits speed and position supervision without external safety relays.
