Product Description:
The CS351S-D controller is built by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the CS Compact Controller Systems series. It is a tightening controller that supervises and documents torque and angle data when a tightening spindle is used in an assembly line. By linking field devices through its embedded communication bus, the unit coordinates spindle motion, stops the motor when set limits are reached, and sends process status to higher-level PLCs. This arrangement allows the controller to manage fastening cycles while keeping production data available for traceability.
The housing measures 358 × 210 × 253 mm, which supports cabinet installation without requiring a deep rack. The controller accepts a mains supply of 120/230 V, so it can operate from common single-phase utility circuits. Control networks connect through the USB/Ethernet bus system, and operator panels connect through the DVI display port for real-time visualization of tightening curves. The enclosure has an IP54 rating that helps protect internal boards from dust and water splashes common in production cells. Process data is stored on a CF350 CompactFlash module. Three interface module slots are available for optional fieldbus or discrete I/O cards, which expands the controller for different line requirements.
System safety includes a motor stop interface that disconnects drive power when a fault occurs. A serial port, one USB host connector, and one tightening channel are provided for sensor feedback and tool actuation. The unit has a mass of 9.5 kg, which is light enough for door-mounted installation where the enclosure structure supports the load. Ethernet is provided by an On-Board port rather than a plug-in card. The controller meets EMC severity level IV, which helps it resist electrical noise from welding equipment and nearby inverters. Compatibility with a tightening spindle allows closed-loop torque control without external converters.
