Bosch Rexroth Indramat’s CS351E-D NK controller belongs to the CS Compact Controller Systems series. It integrates power conversion, axis control, and field communication in one enclosure so a machine builder can centralize drive and logic functions. When mounted in a cabinet, the unit coordinates spindle positioning, servo motion, and peripheral I/O to automate repetitive machining, assembly, or packaging sequences on the plant floor.
The housing measures 210 × 357.6 × 245.5 mm, so it fits narrow switchgear rows while still leaving room for cable radii. Continuous consumption tops out at 1200 VA, while short load surges can reach 4800 VA, allowing coupled servo supplies to start simultaneously. An IP 54 enclosure rating guards the electronics from dust and water spray, which suits plant-floor cabinets cooled by filtered air rather than sealed climate systems. Network traffic reaches the CPU through an 8-pin RJ45 (10/100 Base-T) Ethernet port that supports deterministic messaging to PLCs and supervisory HMI stations. A passive LC display on the front panel shows status codes, and the specified vertical installation position encourages chimney airflow through the heat-sink fins.
A serial interface supports local device wiring and reaches a maximum data rate of 115 kbit/s over the RS-232 connector for field service laptops.
