The CS351E-D IL controller belongs to the CS Compact Controller Systems series produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat. It is a compact PLC-based unit that provides motion coordination, data acquisition, and local visualization for automated assembly, tightening, and processing stations. By combining computation, fieldbus connectivity, and an integrated LC display, it replaces larger cabinet controllers while still meeting the performance demands of industrial production lines.

Program execution follows the internationally recognized IEC 61131-3 standard, so ladder logic or structured text developed for other compliant platforms can be transferred without rewriting. Under normal load, the power supply must deliver 1200 VA, and short dynamic peaks up to 4800 VA are tolerated when external actuators start or brake. In energy-saving standby, the unit draws only 23 W, which keeps diagnostics and network links active while minimizing heat. Fast plant-level communication is handled by an Ethernet port rated at 10/100 Base-T, and a separate RS-232 channel supports service access at 115 kbit/s. The LC display uses a DVI-D single-link interface for menu navigation. An IP54 housing shields the electronics from dust and splashing water, and interference emissions remain within EN 55011 Class A limits when the controller is mounted in the required vertical position.

For remote-mounted tightening spindles, the controller supports a tool cable run of up to 50 m while maintaining signal integrity. This allows the controller to be installed away from the tool head when machine space is limited.
