The CLM01.4-P-E-4-B-FW is an Indramat position control module manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the CLM Axis Positioning Control Modules series. Installed inside electrical cabinets, it supervises position, speed, and acceleration loops for up to four independent machine axes and transmits setpoint data to connected drives. By combining command generation, feedback processing, and front-panel operating functions, the unit supports coordinated motion tasks in packaging lines, material handling stations, and specialized machining fixtures. The module handles motion coordination and feedback processing in one cabinet-mounted unit.
It operates from a regulated 24 V DC supply, keeping internal logic isolated from higher-voltage drive circuits. Four differential analog inputs accept control references at ±10 V, 12-bit resolution, while four analog outputs deliver motion variables with the same voltage swing at higher internal precision for fine actuator command and stable signal scaling. Encoder feedback is sampled at 1 MHz, so rapid servo loops can be closed without missing edge transitions. Design Version 4 under Line 01 incorporates expansion slots for additional I/O or memory, and an integrated fieldbus interface supports cyclic data exchange with a PLC. Thermal dissipation is limited to 45 W max., letting the card operate in a low-flow cabinet without dedicated fans, and its terminals are finger-safe behind an IP20 housing profile. A backlit LCD presents axis status, parameter values, and alarm codes directly on the front panel.
The module supports synchronous interpolation across a 4-axis group, which allows coordinated motion across multiple machine sections. A compact footprint of 330 × 105 × 390 mm eases retrofit into crowded racks, and convection limits are respected by a natural-air ambient ceiling of 45 °C or a forced-air ceiling of 55 °C. Real-time communication to higher-level controllers is handled through the Profibus-DP slave module, enabling deterministic handshakes for start, stop, and error recovery sequences. Plug-in memory cartridges can expand the module, and rated local losses stay constant across this temperature range so cabinet heat output remains predictable during operation.
