The CLM01.4-LA1-01V06-MS is an Indramat position control module produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the CLM Axis Positioning Control Modules series. Installed in a control cabinet, it coordinates closed-loop positioning tasks on machine tools, packaging lines, and material-handling stations. By combining motion sequencing with integrated diagnostics, the unit sends axis commands to external drives and reads encoder feedback for automated positioning systems. This arrangement allows the module to manage point-to-point motion, position monitoring, and machine responses tied to axis location during normal operation.

The controller draws a supply of 24 VDC, and its logic circuits consume only 450 mA, which helps limit heat buildup inside the cabinet. Program and parameter data are exchanged through a RS-232/422/485 port that supports rates up to 19,200 baud, enabling connection to PCs, PLCs, or higher-level networks. Axis commands are resolved down to 0.001 in (0.01 mm), so incremental moves can be executed with fine linear accuracy. A 20-key membrane keypad provides local data entry, and a 4 × 16 LCD shows status messages, alarms, and machine coordinates during use. Within the housing, convection cooling removes the small amount of waste heat, eliminating the need for forced airflow.

The module supervises up to 4 independent axes and offers 24 predefined binary inputs for sensors alongside 18 predefined outputs for actuator commands. That I/O capacity supports common machine signals such as home switches, travel limits, clamps, and status indicators without requiring a large amount of external interface hardware. An IP10 enclosure rating provides basic finger protection when the unit is mounted behind a cabinet door. Physical dimensions are 390 mm in height, 105 mm in width, and 325 mm in depth, allowing dense placement with other automation components. Reliable operation is specified up to 1000 m elevation with no derating at that height. The module is line 01 with design version 4 in the series.
