The CLM01.3-X-E-4-0-FW positioning module is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the CLM Axis Positioning Control Modules series. It is an Indramat position control unit that coordinates motion on multiple machine axes, allowing synchronized cutting, indexing, or feeding cycles in automated equipment. By integrating encoder feedback and axis command logic, the module serves as the central controller that closes the position loop for servo drives in material handling and converting lines during coordinated machine operation.

Internally, the controller can manage 4 axes, each monitored through absolute encoders that receive a stabilized supply of 24 Vdc, 400 mA per channel. For digital interfacing, it offers 88 auxiliary inputs and 51 auxiliary outputs so that sensors, limit switches, and pneumatic valves can be tied directly to the logic board. A separate control supply of 24 Vdc, 200 mA per encoder powers the incremental feedback channels while isolating them from field wiring noise. Operators view parameters on a four-line standard LCD display, and they adjust values through a 20-key membrane keypad that provides tactile confirmation without a separate programming terminal.

Thermal management relies on natural convection, eliminating fans and reducing particulate ingress, while overall ingress protection is limited to IP10, so the module must be installed inside a clean cabinet. Incremental encoder channels are supplied with 24 Vdc, 50 mA per encoder, matching the measuring-wheel feedback option that accepts incremental signals only. The housing weighs 6 kg, which simplifies panel placement beside drives and I/O racks in enclosed control cabinets. Expansion options are available through plug-in cards to add fieldbus links or extra memory.
