The CLM01.3-X-0-2-0 axis positioning control module is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the CLM Axis Positioning Control Modules series. This module functions as a motion supervisor between servo drives and feedback devices, calculating target positions, velocities, and acceleration limits in real time. In automated packaging and handling lines, it allows carriage, spindle, or gantry axes to follow programmed paths without requiring a separate PLC motion card. Because position commands are generated inside the module, the connected drives receive coordinated motion references directly from the control stage.

Its logic circuitry is powered from a stable 24 VDC control supply, and the design allocates 400 mA to each absolute encoder channel so that high-resolution multi-turn devices remain correctly biased during operation. When incremental encoders are used, the per-channel demand drops to 50 mA, while command processing requires an additional 200 mA of control current for each connected feedback source. The module can coordinate 2 axes, so its internal processor supervises position loops for both drives at the same time. This arrangement supports different encoder types without changing the basic control platform. Heat from that processing is removed through natural convection, eliminating moving fans and simplifying cabinet airflow requirements.

For enclosure planning, the unit stands 390 mm high, measures 105 mm in width, and extends 325 mm in depth, while the assembled housing and electronics have a mass of 6 kg. The protection system is rated at IP10, so the housing blocks solid objects larger than 50 mm but does not provide liquid sealing. Because of that enclosure rating, the module is intended for installation inside a protected cabinet rather than in an open machine area. Reliable operation is permitted up to 1000 m above sea level, where passive cooling remains adequate under the stated operating conditions. The depth of the housing also leaves room for cable routing and connection access when the module is installed alongside other control components.
