The CLM01.3-X-0-2 is an Indramat position control module developed by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the CLM Axis Positioning Control Modules series. It coordinates motion on two mechanical axes inside packaging or material-handling lines by converting encoder feedback into precise drive commands. Delivered in a standard 2-axis configuration, the unit fits inside multi-drive cabinets and provides on-panel setup through an integrated four-line display. By handling trajectory generation and sequence logic locally, it frees the main PLC for higher-level supervision.

Control electronics inside the module operate from a regulated supply of 24 Vdc; at this voltage, the front-end circuitry draws only 10 mA, limiting load on the cabinet power supply. Each axis channel can deliver 200 mA per encoder, so differential signals remain reliable over long cables. For machine-level I/O, the board offers 24 auxiliary inputs and 19 auxiliary outputs, allowing sensors, pushbuttons, and valve coils to be wired directly without external expanders. Position calculations are performed to a feed-length resolution of 0.001 in, enabling cut-to-length tables and rotary knives to hit tight length tolerances. When integrated into a serial network, the CLM module can exchange parameters and diagnostics at up to 19200 baud, supporting recipe downloads through an HMI.

Non-volatile program storage is provided by an EPROM of 256 KB, while active data such as counters and offsets are buffered in 128 KB of battery-backed RAM, so production continues after short power interruptions. The controller sources field devices with an output current ceiling of 50 mA and communicates through a selectable RS-232/422/485 port that matches diverse shop-floor wiring schemes. No hardware expansion slots are present, simplifying qualification in regulated environments.
