This standalone positioning controller links a motor drive to machine-level sequences, executing incremental moves and coordinated velocity profiles in automated assembly, packaging, and material-handling stations. By processing position commands internally, it offloads the PLC and maintains tight following-error limits for a single closed-loop axis, making it suitable for high-precision linear slides or rotary index tables without extensive custom electronics.
Hardware supports a single motion channel, and the unit is rated for 1 axis, so all I/O functions are dedicated to that line. Control logic and part programs reside in 128 KB of battery-backed RAM; this capacity holds several hundred move blocks with variables and diagnostic data. Power is supplied at 24 Vdc, simplifying cabinet wiring because the controller draws from the same low-voltage rail used by sensors and contactors.
