The CLM 01.3-X-0-2-B is a positioning controller manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the CLM Axis Positioning Control Modules series. As an Indramat position control unit, it issues precise motion profiles to downstream drives while evaluating incremental or absolute encoder data in real time. By combining digital logic with dedicated feedback channels, the module lets packaging machines, cut-to-length lines, and material feeders stop or index product at repeatable positions under central PLC supervision. This arrangement supports synchronized machine sequences in applications where product travel must match commanded position changes without drift.

Operating from a control supply of 24 VDC, the controller internally distributes regulated power to two feedback channels because it is factory configured for 2 axes. Each axis accepts one encoder, and the commanded feed distance can be adjusted in increments as small as 0.01 mm, allowing tight-tolerance cuts or placements on short or long feed moves. For absolute transducers, the module provides up to 400 mA/encoder, while incremental devices are supplied with 50 mA/encoder. An additional CLM bus source furnishes 200 mA per encoder for internal logic isolation. The measuring wheel port supports incremental sensing only, which keeps signal processing straightforward during high-speed line tracking.

Heat is removed by natural convection, eliminating fans that could draw contaminants into the IP10 enclosure and reducing airflow requirements inside the cabinet. Field wiring is simplified by 24 predefined digital inputs and 18 predefined outputs that link the controller to sensors, clamps, or diverter gates without extra interface cards.
