Product Description:
The CFL01.1-R3 is a plug-in communication module engineered by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the CFL Modules series. Installed inside IndraControl automation racks, the unit adds two real-time Ethernet network ports so motion drives, I/O, and safety devices can exchange cyclic data through a deterministic fiber-optic or copper ring. Within an industrial automation cell, it acts as the physical and protocol layer translator between the CPU backplane and external bus traffic, allowing a controller to support additional axes or decentralized peripherals without changing the main hardware.
The module exposes its network ports as two metal RJ45 sockets that accept shielded twisted-pair cabling. Communication occurs over a Cat 5 STP link and is clocked at a line speed of 100 MBaud, supporting the cycle times required for position-synchronized drives. Internal logic draws 270 mA from the 3.3 V rail and an additional 230 mA from the 5 V rail; combined with conversion losses, this yields a total load of 2.05 W on the controller power supply. The card occupies 20 mm of rack width, 70 mm of depth, and 120 mm of height, so it can be placed next to standard I/O slices without exceeding the enclosure footprint. To limit signal degradation, each cable must be double-shielded, and the RJ45 connections support ring or line topologies.
The card operates on the Sercos III fieldbus and is intended for cabinets with a protection class of IP20. Reliable service is maintained at temperatures up to 55 °C, with relative humidity up to 95% and mechanical shocks up to 15 g, so the module can operate in machines that experience moderate vibration and seasonal heat. Installation is permissible at site elevations up to 2700 m without power derating, and the circuitry remains stable even when rapid environmental changes occur.
