Product Description:
The CFL01.1-Q2 is a communication module produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the CFL Modules series. Installed in a modular controller rack, the unit forms part of the ring topology used in distributed motion control. Its purpose is to link multiple drive or I/O stations so that deterministic data exchange can occur over SERCOS-based fiber optics, allowing coordinated axis behavior in industrial automation cells. This role makes the module suitable for systems that depend on predictable message timing between centrally managed control hardware and remote motion devices.
The module communicates over the SERCOS II fieldbus and supports an adjustable ring cycle time of 2/4/8 ms, which determines how often telegrams circulate through connected nodes. Internal circuitry draws only 2.3 W from the backplane, minimizing heat load inside the cabinet and reducing the electrical burden on the host rack. An MLC controller can host up to 4 modules of this type, allowing separate communication rings to be assigned to different machine sections when needed. Its mechanical size is limited to 120 × 20 × 70 mm, so the card fits in a single slot without blocking normal airflow paths. Cross communication uses dedicated primary TX and RX ports, while front-panel indicators provide a quick visual check of activity and fault status during operation.
A fully loaded ring can address 63 slaves, which supports multi-axis installations that combine drives, sensors, and related automation devices on one optical network. All operating power is supplied by the System Bus, so no separate external supply wiring is needed for the module itself. The housing carries an IP20 rating for finger-safe installation inside a protected control cabinet. Continuous operation is permitted up to a maximum site altitude of 2700 m, and storage is allowed to 3000 m. Primary and secondary error signaling is built into the module so network faults can be identified without adding separate diagnostic hardware.
