Drive controllers in the Rexroth IndraDrive drive system have two essential parts: the control section and the power section. To achieve a compact build, the control section is plugged into the power section but can be ordered separately. The CDB family of control sections are double-axis devices in the BASIC UNIVERSAL control section range. As part of the drive controllers, they are used in handling and mounting systems and machine tools.

The CDB01.1C-SE-EN2-EN2-EN2-EN2-S1-S-NN-FW is one of the double-axis control sections in the CDB series by Bosch Rexroth. It is a configurable Version 1 model of these control sections that features four encoder evaluation interfaces. Encoders with a supply voltage of 5V, such as the sin-cos encoder (1 Vpp) with EnDat 2.1 and Sense lines can be connected to it. Others are the sin-cos encoder 1 Vpp with reference track and the 5V-TTL square-wave encoder with reference track. The master communication module of the control section is SERCOS, and it uses fiber optics cables for information transfer. This fiber optics cable can be ordered separately.

Due to the compact size of the CDB01.1C-SE-EN2-EN2-EN2-EN2-S1-S-NN-FW, the control section can easily be mounted and dismounted. To reduce the risk of damage, the number of plug-in actions should be limited to a maximum of 20 times. The standard control panel on this device can be used to set the transmission power and field bus transmission rate of the SERCOS module. It has a single-line display and four keys used to trigger simple commands. In this control section, the safety option is Safety Technology I/O and it permits application-related functions like safety-related reduced speed and safety-related drive interlock.
