It is built with a SERCOS communication module that allows it to communicate with high-level control units using fiber optic cables. It also features two standard encoder evaluation interfaces and an Analog I/O extension. Both standard encoder evaluation interfaces allow encoders like the encoders of MSK (IndraDyn S) servo motors and the sin-cos encoders with Hiperface and EnDat 2.1 to be connected to the control section. The Analog I/O extension works by increasing the number of analog channels and providing analog channels of better resolution.
