Bosch Rexroth Indramat produces the CCD01.1-KE12-01-FW in the CCD Motion Controllers series. This rack-mount module serves as the motion coordinator in industrial automation cells, generating trajectories, evaluating feedback, and issuing drive commands. Installed in a control cabinet, it bridges higher-level PLC instructions with servo amplifiers and distributed I/O so that axes start, follow, and stop at precise positions and velocities required by material handling, packaging, and CNC equipment. This arrangement lets one controller coordinate motion, feedback processing, and I/O exchange from a central cabinet location. It also supervises diagnostics and state monitoring so production sequences remain deterministic.

The controller is powered from a DC 24 V supply rail. With no field activity, it draws only 0.2 A, while continuous operation at full signaling raises consumption to 2.2 A. An onboard interface presents 32 opto-isolated digital inputs for sensor status and 24 sourcing digital outputs for actuator control. Output channels are internally fused, and momentary faults are limited by an output short-circuit threshold of 350 mA. The assembly also has a short-circuit rating of 42,000 A. Temperature-controlled electronics permit reliable switching up to 45 °C ambient. Arcnet networking is integrated, and additional serial slots can host application-specific communication cards.

The Arcnet trunk is impedance-matched at 93 Ω, ensuring reflection-free signaling over shielded coax. The RS-232 service port supports cable runs to 15 m at a peak speed of 38400 baud, while distributed stations can extend to 1200 m on RS-422 and multidrop diagnostics operate at 9600 baud on RS-485. Each digital output is rated for a continuous load of 80 mA, and trip logic disconnects the channel when that limit is exceeded. Nonvolatile variables are retained by a 3 V lithium backup battery, allowing warm starts after power cycling.
