As a panel-mounted operator station, it connects numerical control software with drives and I/O modules so machining centers can execute programmed paths and auxiliary functions from one interface. The platform identifier 30 places the unit within the BTV family, and the terminal is intended for CNC use in metal, plastic, and wood processing equipment, including applications subject to export restrictions. This arrangement lets the operator view process states and enter commands without relying on a separate remote interface.

Processing tasks are handled by a Pentium 166 MHz CPU working with 32 MB of SDRAM, which gives the terminal enough resources for HMI operation, screen updates, and program handling. Motion programs and system files are stored on a minimum 500 MB hard drive.
