The BTV20.3SA-56B-33C-S-FW operator panel is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the BTV20 Machine Operator Panels series. The unit combines display, keypad, and processing hardware in a single enclosure so that status information and command entry are available at the machine. In an automation environment, it acts as the human-machine interface, sending entered values to the connected CNC or PLC while showing process feedback to the operator. Its integrated controller resources also allow small local programs and diagnostic routines to run directly on the panel, which reduces dependence on a separate interface device and helps keep local tasks close to the point of use. Because the interface and processing section are housed together, wiring between visualization and local input hardware stays simple at the control station.

Electrical power is supplied through an input range of AC 115 to 230 V, 50 to 60 Hz, allowing the panel to be installed in control cabinets that already use standard mains service. The internal PC section has a base configuration with a min. 300 MHz CPU and a hard drive capacity of min. 3 GB HDD, so operating screens, editor functions, and local diagnostics can run on the panel itself. Working files and runtime variables are held in 256 MB of RAM, and recipes can be transferred off the device through the Smart Card interface, which serves as its primary removable storage. Stored recipes and service data can also be moved between compatible systems without relying entirely on a network connection. This combination of processor speed, hard drive capacity, volatile memory, and removable media support sets the panel’s local computing and data handling capability for routine machine operation.

Operator interaction is supported by 16 Machine function keys placed alongside the Standard keyboard, giving direct access to common machine commands without relying only on screen menus. This arrangement lets users trigger dedicated actions quickly while still retaining full alphanumeric entry at the panel. Control logic in the unit uses the ISP function type, allowing inline processing rather than limiting the device to display-only tasks. That allows the panel to handle certain local logic functions in addition to visualization duties. The panel is built in Design 3.
