The BTV20.3EA-64B-33C-D-FW operator panel is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and is part of the BTV20 Machine Operator Panels series. It combines a display, keypad, and internal electronics in one machine-mounted housing, so an automation cell can be operated without a separate PC at the station. In typical industrial lines, the panel sends operator commands to motion or process controllers and returns status messages, alarms, and screen data in real time. Because the interface is mounted directly on the machine, operators can view active process information and respond to prompts without leaving the operating position.

The on-board memory provides 64 MB of RAM for runtime data and buffering of visualization files. Long-term storage is provided by a 3.5-inch, 1.44 MB disk drive, which accepts standard floppy disks for backup files and software transfer. For direct machine interaction, the front panel includes 16 machine function keys whose scan codes are read by the control software. This arrangement supports local entry of commands, recipe selections, and screen navigation through hard keys instead of a detached keyboard. The supply circuit accepts single-phase power from AC 115 to 230 V and operates at line frequencies of 50 to 60 Hz, so the unit can be used in facilities worldwide without a transformer.

System requirements are modest: a host controller with at least 3 GB of HDD capacity and a 300 MHz CPU can run the panel's engineering tools over Ethernet for visualization and configuration tasks. The Ethernet connection allows project data and screen files to be exchanged with the supporting controller environment.
