Product Description:
The BTV20.2EA-28B-11D-D-FW operator panel is manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and belongs to the BTV20 Machine Operator Panels series. The unit serves as a front-end controller for CNC and PLC-based machines, combining display, keypad, and communication ports in one enclosure. Its integrated format reduces the number of separate devices required at the machine front and keeps routine control functions in one place. Within an automation cell, it allows operators to start programs, monitor axis status, and transfer data to the drive or control cabinet without direct exposure to internal electronics.
The base system integrates at least 1 GB of solid-state storage with a 200 MHz processor, so ladder logic files, HMI screens, and diagnostic records can be kept locally while still loading quickly at power-up. Because the storage is solid state, local project files and diagnostic data can be retained without relying on moving media for everyday use. An onboard RS485 channel supports SIS field wiring, allowing the panel to exchange commands with drive controllers over a noise-tolerant differential link. Volatile memory is rated at 128 MB, which supports temporary data buffering, recipe handling, and alarm logs generated during production. Power is supplied through a single DC 24 V feed, eliminating the need for internal mains conversion and allowing the panel to share the same low-voltage bus as sensors and relays. A standard membrane keyboard is included for alphanumeric entry.
For quick access to frequently used cycles, the front bezel carries 16 machine function keys, and each key includes an LED for state indication. This arrangement lets recurring actions be reached without navigating multiple screen layers, and the LED indication gives immediate visual feedback at the same control point. Hardware classification follows design 2, which aligns the enclosure layout and connector positions with other units in the product line 20 grouping. A 3.5-inch drive holding a 1.44 MB floppy disk is mounted behind the front cover, allowing legacy NC parameters to be loaded when network access is not used. The panel is delivered in the MTA export version.
