Product Description:
Bosch Rexroth Indramat manufactures the BTV20/30 PC Slot-ETXP3-700 central processing card for BTV20 Machine Operator Panels. As part of the BTV Panel product family and line 20, this board provides the computing core that runs visualization, motion-related commands, and diagnostic routines in machine tools and production cells. Installed in the PC slot of an operator panel, it supplies processor control, memory handling, and communication interfaces needed to connect the human-machine interface with drives, PLCs, and plant networks. Its role is to keep the panel responsive while coordinating operator input with the rest of the automation system.
The board uses a Mobile Intel Pentium III running at 700 MHz and connects to a 100 MHz front-side bus through the Intel 440BX AGPset chipset. A dedicated secondary cache of 256 KB helps reduce memory-access delays during screen updates and control tasks. System RAM can be expanded to 256 MB of 3.3 V PC-100 SDRAM, which supports operator screens, application data, and NC program handling without relying on external memory hardware. Graphics are processed by an ATI Rage Mobility AGP controller, and network communication is managed by an Intel 82559ER PCI Ethernet controller. Typical power consumption is limited to 15 W, which helps the panel operate within its thermal limits without forced-air cooling.
Serial communication on the secondary COM2 header supports RS232/RS422/RS485, allowing either point-to-point connections or multidrop links to compatible drives and PLCs. A downstream root port that follows USB 1.0 can supply up to 500 mA per port for service peripherals or removable storage devices. Nonvolatile settings such as machine zero and user macros are retained by a 3.6 V lithium 1/2 AA backup battery, so important data remains available after shutdown. All logic circuits operate from the host chassis through the +5 V and +12 V power rails, and stable operation is maintained within a ±3% tolerance. The hardware build is classified as design 3.
