Product Description:
The BTV16.1ACA-256N-P5D-NC-FW visualization terminal is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the BTV16 Visualization Terminals series. It serves as an operator station that combines an industrial PC, display, and touch interface to show machine states and accept commands near the production line. By integrating graphical diagnostics, parameter editing, and manual override functions into a single front-mounted unit, it reduces the need for separate computers or remote human-machine interfaces.
At its core, the unit runs on a Pentium III processor that works with 256 MB of RAM, providing sufficient computing capacity for real-time graphics and PLC data exchanges. The front display is a 12-inch TFT panel driven at 800 × 600 pixels, so projects designed for SVGA resolution fill the screen without scaling artifacts. A resistive touch screen supplements the membrane keys for direct data entry. Two RS-232 serial ports connect to legacy drives, while two Type-A USB ports on the rear support recipe transfers. A CD-ROM drive permits software loading. Power is supplied at 24 VDC, matching common control-cabinet bus bars, and three internal PC-box slots accept additional fieldbus or motion cards when extra interfaces are required.
Continuous input can reach 4 A, while startup transients can momentarily rise to 25 A; selecting fuses and wiring for these values helps avoid nuisance trips. The internal supply delivers up to 80 W for the motherboard, backlight, and expansion cards, which limits internal heat generation. A sealed aluminum bezel with IP65 front protection allows the terminal to be mounted on doors exposed to dust or coolant. This sealing also accounts for the lack of a front USB connector. Because an integrated uninterruptible power supply is not included, shutdown buffering must be provided by an external 24 V battery module.
