BTV15 Visualization Terminals

The BTV15 Visualization Terminals from Bosch Rexroth Indramat are PC-based user and visualization terminals intended for machine operation, and in extended configurations they can be equipped with integrated control hardware for stand-alone PLC use in applications such as lathes, milling machines, and machining centers.

The BTV15.2 platform runs Windows NT 4.0 (service pack 5) and, in the standard version, combines a 266 MHz CPU with integrated graphics, 64/128 MB RAM, a hard disk larger than 3 GB, an 8.2-inch DSTN color display, and a 24 VDC supply. For operator input, the front panel provides a multi-level keypad that covers most standard keyboard functions via multiple key allocation, plus eight machine function keys (four on each side of the display) that can be labeled with slide-in strips. The terminal is built for industrial environments with a non-reflecting display cover and a robust front design that uses a thick aluminum panel laminated with a chemical-resistant polyester foil and embossed keys protected against separation. Connectivity and expansion are central to the series design, with serial interfaces (including RS232/RS422/RS485 capability on COM2), Ethernet, VGA, PS/2 keyboard/mouse support, and an extended-version backplane that adds ISA/PCI expansion for plug-in cards and additional control-unit slots.
