The BTV15.2CA-28B-32D-B-FW operator panel is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the BTV15 Visualization Terminals series. It combines a screen, keypad, and communication interfaces in one housing so that machine states can be observed and commands entered directly on the factory floor. Mounted to the front of a control cabinet, the unit serves as the human-machine interface in automated cells, relaying operator inputs to motion or process controllers and returning status data in real time. This arrangement lets operators review alarms, select process screens, and enter commands without relying on a separate industrial PC at the machine.

User interaction begins with an 8.2 in DSTN Color display, and the passive-matrix method keeps energy use low while providing clear graphics. A native 640 × 480 px resolution supports standard VGA visualization packages without scaling. Behind the bezel, a 5x86 266 MHz processor executes the runtime environment, and 128 MB of RAM buffers active application data so screen updates remain smooth. Long-term files are stored on a 3 GB HDD, giving ample space for recipes and event logs. Physical dimensions of 318 × 230 × 130 mm allow drop-in replacement inside many operator-station cutouts, and eight writable machine function keys permit context-sensitive labeling. An onboard RS232 port plus an SIS interface selectable for RS232, RS422, or RS485 supports legacy peripherals such as printers or barcode readers.

The electronics are supplied from 24 VDC, and peak demand stays within 50 VA, so the terminal can share a standard low-voltage control supply. Typical heat dissipation is 24 W, rising to 40 W under sustained backlight and processor load, which helps determine cabinet ventilation needs. Front-side sealing meets IP65, so spray-down cleaning of the machine face does not jeopardize the keys or screen, while the rear housing remains at IP20 for convection cooling inside the enclosure.
