The BTV05.2HN-RS-FW is a compact human-machine interface from Bosch Rexroth Indramat and part of the BTV05 Miniature Control Panels series. It mounts close to the process and relays operator commands to the machine control over a serial fieldbus. By combining a monochrome graphic screen, membrane keys, and onboard logic channels, it replaces bulky deskside terminals in space-limited machines. Operators can use it for localized startup, status review, message viewing, and alarm acknowledgment in repetitive production environments where quick local interaction is preferred over a remote terminal.

It accepts a 24 VDC power feed and, under maximum loading, draws up to 400 mA. The LCD provides a pixel map of 256 × 64 px, enough for text menus, process messages, and simple graphics, while its LED backlight ensures visibility in dim work areas. Ten isolated 24 VDC inputs are available for limit switches, and eleven 24 VDC outputs can switch stack lights or relays near the machine. Real-time data exchange with the PLC takes place through the built-in RS485 communication bus, with RS232 and RS422 options routed through a 15-pin D-sub connector. A standard membrane keyboard provides tactile entry, and seven user-programmable keys can be reassigned by the control program for frequently used functions without changing the hardware layout.

The front foil, keys, and display window are sealed to IP65, preventing dust ingress and low-pressure water jets, while the rear housing remains at IP20 for installation inside a closed cabinet. The visible portion of the screen measures 124 × 34 mm, giving operators a clear strip of status information without taking up excess space on the cabinet door. Mechanical size is limited to 318 × 163 × 53 mm, enabling door mounting alongside emergency stops and selector switches. Its internal illumination reduces lamp maintenance and supports the temperature limits set by the controller builder.
