The BTV04.2GN-FW is a miniature operator panel manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the BTV04 Miniature Control Panels series. Designed as a human-machine interface, the unit allows technicians to issue commands and read machine status directly on the production floor. Its compact form factor hosts a graphical display, keypad, and dual serial links so the panel can mount on cabinets or arms and relay instructions to drives, PLCs, and motion controllers in automated lines.

The panel is powered from a stable 24 V DC supply, so it ties directly into the low-voltage control circuit of most machinery without additional converters. Under full backlight the logic board draws up to 400 mA; this figure helps designers size power supplies and fusing for the operator station. Information is shown on a monochrome graphical LCD with a native resolution of 128 × 64 pixels, which supports simple vector graphics and text messages. A visible window of 68 × 37 mm defines how much content can be read at one glance. The screen uses a CFL backlight for consistent contrast in dim assembly areas. For networked installations COM1 offers an RS485 bus-capable channel, while COM2 provides a point-to-point RS232 port so the panel can talk either to multi-drop fieldbus nodes or to a single controller.

Local I/O extends the display function. There are 10 isolated 24 V digital inputs for reading sensor states and pushbuttons, and 11 isolated 24 V digital outputs that can energize indicator lamps or interposing relays. Operators interact through a membrane keypad that contains 38 keys; among them, 7 keys can be assigned by application software to frequently used machine functions. The molded front bezel carries an ingress rating of IP65, preventing dust and low-pressure water jets from reaching the electronics, while the rear housing is limited to IP20 for cabinet-protected mounting.
