Product Description:
The BTV01.1AA-08N-25C-AN-ND-FW is a visualization terminal manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the BTV01 Visualization Terminals series. Intended for operator stations on production lines, the device presents process data, accepts commands through an integrated keyboard, and forwards those commands to motion or logic controllers. Its role in industrial automation is to centralize machine supervision so that startup, diagnostics, and recipe changes can be performed without accessing internal control cabinets. The terminal mounts in an enclosure door while the electronics remain inside the cabinet, providing convenient access while shielding the circuitry from contaminants.
Communication with upstream equipment is handled by a COM 1 port that uses the RS-232C protocol, supporting point-to-point links for parameter downloads or alarm retrieval. A built-in 3.5-inch, 1.44 MB floppy drive permits program backups without requiring an external computer. The front panel has an IP65 rating, so liquid spray or dust at the panel surface will not interrupt operation. Inside the cabinet, the electronics have an IP20 rating and require a clean, dry mounting space. The terminal has no ISA bus expansion card, which limits it to its fixed input and output interfaces. During typical visualization tasks, the assembly dissipates 65 W, and this heat must be considered when planning cabinet ventilation.
The terminal can operate at ambient temperatures from +5 °C to +45 °C. It can be stored or transported at temperatures from -20 °C to +60 °C without loss of performance, allowing inactive units to remain in warehouses that lack continuous climate control. Under maximum loading, heat output can reach 200 W, so control cabinet fans or heat exchangers must accommodate this load rather than only the typical operating value. Adequate spacing around the internal electronics helps airflow carry heat away from the housing. The enclosure must also prevent internal exposure to moisture and heavy dust because the rear electronics have less protection than the sealed front panel.
