The BTA20.4-NE-DC-BA-BS is a machine control board from Bosch Rexroth Indramat in the BTA20 Machine Control Boards series. In an automation cell, it functions as local control hardware that conditions 24 V field signals, exchanges process data with higher-level PLCs, and presents operator commands through a sealed front panel. By integrating serial links and an Interbus fieldbus interface, it ties discrete sensors, drives, and supervisory controllers into a coordinated system. This arrangement lets the board handle local machine signaling and network communication from a single control point.

The controller handles a data path that is 48 bits wide, allowing simultaneous transfer of status, command, and diagnostic words. Its front panel carries a protection rating of IP65, and the faceplate is built from aluminum backed with polyester foil to resist oil and fine dust. Interbus communication operates at 500 kbaud, and the board identifies itself on the ring with ID code 3 while offering one IN port and one OUT port for uninterrupted topology.
