Product Description:

The BTA20.4-ND-FM-VB-BS is a high-power triac controller. It is intended for AC power control designs, such as dimming, switching, and motor control. Also, it is encased in a standard TO-220 through-hole package. This gives better thermal performance and easy integration into various circuit boards.

This unit contains a gate trigger current (IGT) of 50 mA. It also has a gate trigger voltage (VGT) of 1.3 V. It can switch on efficiently with moderate gate drive characteristics. Its holding current is also 50 mA. This keeps the device in its conducting state stable after triggering. Its on-state voltage (VTM) is rated at 1.5 V. This gives the best balance between conduction efficiency and power dissipation for normal operation. For safe operation under changing loads, the triac can tolerate a repetitive peak off-state voltage (VDRM) of 400 V. It is well-suited to control typical AC mains voltage. Moreover, it has an off-state leakage current (IDRM) of only 2 mA. This minimizes standby power consumption in non-conducting states. Furthermore, one of its major advantages is a surge current rating of 210 A, which can tolerate short-duration overloads without failure, most useful under inrush conditions like motor starts or lamp warm-up. The triac gives a high isolation voltage of 2500 V RMS between its gate and terminals. It improves safety in electrically isolated control systems. This model is best used in domestic and industrial circuits. It has reliability, electrical isolation, and compact size.

The BTA20.4-ND-FM-VB-BS is most appropriate for power switching designs with high surge tolerance, reliable gate triggering, and stable thermal and electrical isolation performance in compact layouts. Its through-hole mounting and TO-220 packaging provide simple assembly and effective heat dissipation, supporting stable operation across a wide range of power control applications.
