The BTA20.4-ND-BM-BA-BS machine control board is built by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the BTA20 Machine Control Boards series. Mounted on the operator panel of press or assembly stations, it serves as a compact interface that links discrete I/O, safety loops, and field networking to the primary motion controller. Within an automated cell, the board routes sensor signals, forwards network telegrams, and propagates stop commands so drives, tooling, and supervisory PLCs remain synchronized.

Its primary data highway is the INTERBUS-S / BT-BUS, allowing real-time word transfers between the board and adjacent drive modules. Eight isolated inputs accept 8 x 24 V logic from limit switches, while eight isolated transistor stages return 24 V status lines with output capacity of up to 200 mA per channel. The integrated 5 V auxiliary rail supplies 50 mA for external encoders or bus couplers. Physical dimensions of 407 x 169 x 119 mm determine the required cabinet space and leave room for airflow behind the backplane. Two dedicated emergency-stop circuits break power to drives, and three enabling circuits provide gated restart functions. All connections are isolated to protect upstream electronics from ground loops and noise.

For network continuity, the board provides 1x INTERBUS IN and 1x INTERBUS OUT, so additional nodes can be daisy-chained without external hubs. Service access is available through 1x RS232 IN, 1x RS422 IN, 1x RS422 OUT, which supports parameter transfer during operation. The sealed front achieves an IP65 rating, and the varnished aluminum face with polyester foil resists oils and metal chips on press lines. A mounting footprint of 375 x 137 x 119 mm lets the unit slide into standardized panel frames, while three 10-pin screw terminals simplify hard-wired safety connections.
