The BTA20.3-NE-LA-KB-BS machine control board is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and belongs to the BTA20 Machine Control Boards series. It serves as a front-panel operator and safety interface for automated machines, linking local switches and emergency circuits to the controller through the series’ INTERBUS fieldbus backbone. By combining stop circuitry, push-button scanning, and network routing on a single card, the unit simplifies wiring inside production cells and reduces cabinet space.

Forty addressable inputs let the board capture push-button status, selector positions, or guard-door sensors, while 24 addressable outputs drive indicator lamps or stack-light segments. The onboard safety section supports 3 E-stop key positions, assigning unique addresses to each emergency channel so the PLC can isolate faults. Digital data move across the INTERBUS-S / BT-BUS in a frame of 3 Words (48 Bits), so every input and output fits within one cyclic scan. Fieldbus messages are clocked at 500 kbaud, matching standard INTERBUS transfer rates for deterministic response. The card has one INTERBUS IN port and one INTERBUS OUT port for ring or line topologies, and it also accepts serial diagnostics through RS-232 and RS-422 links.

Each output stage supplies up to 200 mA, enough to energize typical 24 V signal lamps without external relays. The varnished aluminum faceplate, laminated with polyester foil, carries membrane keys and achieves an IP65 rating so washdown splashes do not reach the electronics. Mechanical dimensions of 407 mm in width, 119 mm in depth, and 169 mm in height allow direct mounting on machine guards without exceeding standard panel cutouts. A 2 NC, 2 NO KB contact set is integrated for dual-channel stop loops, and the RS-232 and RS-422 interfaces provide diagnostic access when the main bus is inactive.
