The BTA20.3-NC-DP-VD-BS machine control board is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the BTA20 Machine Control Boards series. Installed in modular automation racks, it executes numerical control tasks, processes discrete signals, and coordinates motion sequences for servo drives and pneumatic units. Acting as the central logic element, the board links sensors, operator panels, and fieldbus networks to support deterministic control in packaging lines, metal-cutting centers, and assembly systems without a separate PLC. It can also coordinate sequence timing between motion axes and peripheral actuators so machine events stay synchronized during operation.

Signal exchange with companion modules occurs over the proprietary BT backplane, and a maximum bus length of 50 m allows remote I/O mounting while preserving cycle timing. Internally, a 48-bit data width handles large status words and override data in a single transaction. For distributed peripherals, the integrated Interbus master operates at 500 kbaud, supporting fast sensor updates across the installation.
