The BTA20.3-NC-DP-BA-BS control board is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat in the BTA20 Machine Control Boards series. It serves as an I/O node that links discrete machine signals to the INTERBUS-S and BT-BUS field networks, allowing a numerical controller to exchange command and status data with actuators and sensors distributed around a production cell. This makes the module suitable for decentralized I/O clusters that need limited cable length, moderate current switching capacity, and environmental sealing on the operator side.

This board handles network traffic at a maximum remote-bus speed of 500 kbaud, and each telegram carries a data width of 48 bits. The BT-BUS segment attached to the front panel supports up to 4 downstream devices over a trunk length of 50 m, permitting compact islands of I/O to be chained without repeaters. Logical addressing is fixed by Interbus ID code 3, while the process image occupies an I/O width of 3 words inside the CNC. Front sealing rated at IP65 protects the connectors against airborne dust and low-pressure water jets on the machine face. Internally, the board provides 40 total inputs and 24 total outputs, and the NC third enabling circuit is not usable, so any additional safety channel must be implemented externally.

Physical integration is simplified by overall dimensions of 407 x 169 x 119 mm and mounting points that match a 375 x 138 x 119 mm clearance pattern. The signal section contains 8 isolated 24 V inputs and an equal number of isolated 24 V outputs; each output can source up to 200 mA to drive contactors, indicator lamps, or pneumatic valves. The remaining sixteen outputs bring the channel count to 24 outputs so that medium-sized machines can be wired without additional terminal boards.
