The BTA20.3-NC-DC-BA-BS is a machine control board produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the BTA20 Machine Control Boards series. It serves as a decentralized interface that gathers field signals and forwards them to a higher-level NC controller, allowing discrete I/O to be handled directly on a machine panel rather than through separate remote modules. By combining digital inputs, outputs, and a serial bus coupler on one board, it simplifies wiring in flexible automation lines and helps keep signal paths short. This arrangement supports decentralized machine sections where sensors, clamps, and indicator devices must be connected close to the controlled process.

Communication is handled through the INTERBUS-S / BT-BUS link, so the board can be inserted into a deterministic ring without additional gateways. Each cyclical telegram carries 3 words of I/O data, matching the Interbus ID code 3 read during network initialization. The serial channel operates at 500 kbaud, giving fast response for position, clamp, or sensor changes. Internal supply rails source a 50 mA bus output current to power the optoelectronic coupler circuitry, while individual transistor drivers can deliver up to 200 mA per output point. Eight external inputs and eight external outputs are placed on the front plug-in connectors, and together with backplane resources the board contributes 40 inputs and 24 outputs to the overall station.

For cabinet planning, the board occupies 407 mm of width, 169 mm of height, and 119 mm of depth, so it lines up with standard Indramat operator panels while still leaving space for airflow. The molded front carries an IP65 rating, which keeps dust and water jets away from the front of the installed unit when the door is closed. Only one additional panel can be linked in parallel, so the embedded NC uses the upstream Interbus segment to reach further terminals.
