The BTA20.3-NC-DB-VB-BS control board belongs to the BTA20 Machine Control Boards series produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat. It serves as an interface layer between field devices and higher-level motion controllers, translating sensor states and actuator commands into a format used by the Indramat drive platform. Interbus integration and an Id code of 3 allow the board to link distributed stations to the central PLC across the machine, keeping signal exchange organized between remote devices and the main control system. Two onboard override switches also allow selected automatic sequences to be bypassed during manual checks or troubleshooting.
This model offers 40 addressable inputs and 24 addressable outputs, so complex station logic can be handled locally without expanding external I/O racks. Eight external 24 V inputs and eight external 24 V outputs simplify wiring to light curtains, limit switches, or indicator lamps that share the same low-voltage supply. Process data are exchanged across a width of 48 bits, giving the controller simultaneous access to discrete states and diagnostic flags without splitting them across multiple telegrams. Communication to remote nodes travels over Interbus at 500 kbaud, and one RS422 input plus one RS422 output provide a point-to-point maintenance channel for direct status exchange. The digital outputs can source up to 200 mA per channel, which is suitable for relays or optically isolated loads.
Two usable enabling circuits provide hard-wired safety interlocks that must be closed before motion commands are accepted. The bus output section supplies a maximum of 50 mA to power attached sensors on the ribbon, and the front panel carries an IP65 rating that helps protect the electronics against dust and low-pressure water jets when mounted in an operator door or similar enclosure opening. Overall enclosure dimensions are 407 x 169 x 119 mm, which gives the assembly a narrow profile for door or panel installation. The mounting footprint is limited to 375 x 138 x 119 mm, helping the board fit standard cabinet layouts without requiring deep standoffs or unusually large clearances.
