The BTA20.3-NB-FP-VB-BS is a machine control board manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the BTA20 Machine Control Boards series. It serves as a node-level interface between field sensors, actuators, and the higher-level BT bus, giving CNC and assembly equipment a dedicated panel for manual overrides and safety signaling. By concentrating digital I/O, emergency-stop routing, and local power supplies on one board, the unit simplifies wiring in distributed automation cells and supports straightforward diagnostics during operation. This arrangement lets local commands and status signals pass through the same board instead of using separate interface modules.

The board supplies a regulated 200 mA at 24 V to external indicators and sensors, while a secondary bus line provides 50 mA at +5 V for logic transceivers. Data exchange over the BT bus is handled at up to 38400 baud; within this bandwidth, the controller can scan 8 addressable inputs and refresh eight addressable outputs every cycle. Three-word I/O mapping keeps telegrams compact, and up to four BT bus devices can be chained behind the card without violating timing rules. The override section contains two rotary switches, each with sixteen lock positions, allowing operators to mix feed and spindle overrides while the control system captures the values as part of the cyclic data stream. Because the I/O image remains compact, the bus can update command and status data without adding unnecessary traffic to the link.

The front panel has IP65 sealing, while the rear housing is rated at IP20 for cabinet ventilation. The BT cabling may extend up to 50 m between the master and the last node without repeaters, which supports reliable telegram timing across the bus run. This layout supports installation where the operator side faces the machine exterior and the rear section remains inside the cabinet. For machine stops, the relay track is rated at 24 VDC/42 VAC and 2 A/3 A, so the board can drive contactors directly when the integrated emergency-stop channel is triggered.
