The BTA20.3-NB-BP-VB-BS is a machine control board produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the BTA20 Machine Control Boards series. The card serves as the local operator panel and fieldbus node in automated equipment, combining hard-wired safety channels with Interbus communication. It provides mounting space for pushbuttons, key switches, and indicator lamps so that an operator can issue commands while the controller exchanges digital data with drives and sensors. Within an industrial cell, its purpose is to funnel I/O, propagate emergency-stop signals, and distribute auxiliary 24 V power to peripheral devices.

The board feeds operator circuitry with a 24 V rail that can deliver 200 mA, enough to illuminate status lamps and energize contact blocks without an external supply. A secondary bus supply of 50 mA powers the Interbus optoelectronics so that communication stays active even when local loads fluctuate. Each telegram transports 48 bits of process data, covering the unit’s 40 inputs and 24 outputs in a single scan. When wired as the head station, it exchanges frames at a maximum rate of 38 400 baud; the downstream remote bus can be clocked at 500 kbaud to shorten update time for distributed slaves.
